Unfortunately PNG has <strong>no transparent colour</strong>, so I extracted the icon from the EXE with an icon editor.<br />
In the icon file there are <strong>multiple sizes stored</strong> (so the icon scales).</p>
<p dir="auto">Here is the new app-icon in <strong>ICO format</strong>:</p>
<p dir="auto"><img src="/assets/uploads/files/1528398552659-foxit_reader_icon_256x256.ico" alt="0_1528398549715_Foxit_Reader_Icon_256x256.ico" class=" img-fluid img-markdown" /></p>
<p dir="auto"><em>And you see that the background is transparent now</em> ;-)</p>

<p dir="auto"><a class="plugin-mentions-user plugin-mentions-a" href="/user/olli_s" aria-label="Profile: olli_s">@<bdi>olli_s</bdi></a> Yes, we actually do support that, however, we will just use the most recent one now and then over time, as they change icons, then we may use the old one for historic entries.</p>
</blockquote>
<p dir="auto">The icon is now shown, but the <strong>black colour</strong> is <strong>not transparent</strong>.<br />
So the icon looks awful.</p>

<p dir="auto">So that means that you have to store a relation between the icon and the version of an application.<br />
If the company uses a new icon and users have the old version installed.</p>
