<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><rss xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:content="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/content/" xmlns:atom="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom" version="2.0"><channel><title><![CDATA[[Solved] Lazarus - Wrong Version detected after Update to 2.0 RC 2]]></title><description><![CDATA[<p dir="auto">Today I installed an update for <strong>Lazarus</strong> (new version <strong>2.0 Release Candidate 2</strong>) but VulnDetect <strong>does not detect the installed version</strong> (version <strong>?</strong> is shown)!<br />
In Lazarus I see the following version number: <strong>2.0.0RC2</strong></p>
<p dir="auto">I know that you are working on apps that have a ? as version number.<br />
But I decided to post this because:</p>
<ul>
<li>This is a Release Candidate (not a public release)</li>
<li>Detecting the version number for older versions was tricky (<strong><a href="https://vulndetect.org/topic/250/added-lazarus-app-request">https://vulndetect.org/topic/250/added-lazarus-app-request</a></strong>)</li>
<li>The version info can be found in <strong>C:\lazarus\ide\version.inc</strong> (I will send this by mail)</li>
<li>I am not sure if the version number stored in the EXE can be used (see below)</li>

<p dir="auto">So I reckon that RC would suffice.</p>

<p dir="auto"><strong><a class="plugin-mentions-user plugin-mentions-a" href="/user/tom" aria-label="Profile: Tom">@<bdi>Tom</bdi></a></strong><br />
What about changing the application name from <strong>Lazarus</strong> to <strong>Lazarus (Beta)</strong>?<br />
Because this is not a stable release...</p>
