Bundle "Microsoft Visual Studio C++ Redistributable" with "Microsoft Windows 10 Pro"
-
In the Peronal UI I see that Microsoft Visual Studio C++ Redistributable is not bundled, but it should be bundled with Microsoft Windows 10 Pro:
-
I just installed a brand new Windows 10 Pro. It doesn't come with the Visual Studio C++ Redistributables.
If this is included in other editions of Windows 10, I don't know.
But the right thing is to consider them as standalone installations, since they can be installed and maintained separately. Only if they are installed and placed in sub-folders of other apps, should they be bundled.
But I think it is about time that we review this and get it out of Internal state (only very few other users can see it, it is hidden due to the Internal state).

I know that some applications also install these Microsoft Visual Studio C++ Redistributable Packages.
If I remember correctly, then the SmartFTP Client installs them (to give you an example).Due to the following article some instances can also be delivered with Windows 10 itself:
Some are installed along with Windows itself. The specific versions that get installed depend on which version of Windows you’re using. I’m using Windows 10, which comes with the 2012 and 2013 Visual C++ Redistributables
https://www.howtogeek.com/256245/why-are-there-so-many-microsoft-visual-c-redistributables-installed-on-my-pc/I thought it might be a good idea to bundle them with Windows, because:
- They are located in the Windows folder
- You can not determine what application installed them (or can you get this information from the registry???)
How to proceed?
