[Solved] Opera - Installed Version not detected
-
Opera is found on my system in the following folder:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Opera\opera.exe
Errors:
- The installed version is not detected (the text Unknown is shown)
Notes:
- This is an older version 12.14.1738.0 that I have installed
- the current version is detected correctly, see [Solved] Opera (Portable) - Installed Version not detected
Question:
Is it worth to fix the detection of such an old version? -
@olli_s Yes, but it is a bit down on the list of priorities
-
I think nobody will have such an old version.
If there are really detection issues with older versions (if users really use such old versions) we will create new tickets.
Issue solved! -

Re: [Solved] Opera - Installed Version not detectedOpera Internet Browser 58.0.3135.53 Untracked Unknown
I tried to create a new topic, but it said I didn't have permissions to do so.

@KI108 I just checked this version that you reported, it is detected and the version displayed correctly.
Do you refer to the state being "Unknown" and Opera being "Untracked"?
Opera does unfortunately not providereliable information about vulnerabilities fixed e.g. they don't tell which issues are fixed every time they upgrade chromium. The same goes for Vivaldi. I wish they did, as I personally like both browsers.

@Tom
Yes, I was referring to state being "Unknown" and Opera being "Untracked". I was under the impression that "OK" against any software means that the latest version as found in your database is on my PC. Typically Heimdal Pro (Thor Foresight), PatchmyPC, Sumo etc. generally turn in red, if latest version of a software is not found. I thought even Secunia PSI did that. Not sure if Secunia was checking for vulnerabilities alone. -
@Tom This is the reason why my suggestion Explain the Labels in the List of Applications is so important!
