[Solved] paint.net - Ignore Windows Universal Apps
-
paint.net is detected on my system and the detected version number 4.1 is correct.
But paint.net is a Windows 10 UWP app installed from the Windows 10 Store.
You see that at the path where the app is stored (C:\Program Files\WindowsApps).
And also an other update manager does not find paint.net on my system. So you definitely detect the Windows Store UWP app.
VulnDetect should ignore all Windows 10 UWP apps.
Here the information extracted from the EXE file:
File name and path: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\dotPDNLLC.paint.net_4.100.6822.0_x64__h55e3w7q8jbva\PaintDotNet.exe Product Name: paint.net Internal Name: PaintDotNet.exe Original Filename: PaintDotNet.exe File Description: paint.net Company: dotPDN LLC Legal Copyright: Copyright © 2018 dotPDN LLC, Rick Brewster, and past contributors. We did not decide on a policy for this yet. It is a coincident that it matches for PaintDotNet and security wise the information that we provide still applies, so for now we will not exclude "WindowsApps"

OK, then the issue is solved.
