[Solved] Ubisoft Uplay is replaced by Ubisoft Connect
-
 Ubisoft replaced uPlay by Ubisoft Connect.
 The entry in the Windows 10 Start menu is called Ubisoft Connect.
 So please mark uPlay as EOL.Here the version info from the EXE: File name and path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\UbisoftConnect.exe Product Name: Ubisoft Connect Internal Name: Ubisoft Connect Original Filename: UbisoftConnect.exe File Description: Ubisoft Connect Company: Ubisoft Legal Copyright: (c) Ubisoft Legal Trademarks: Comments: File Version String: 1.0 File Version: 2.0.0.0 Product Version String: 2.0.0 Product Version: 2.0.0.0Here the icon:
  Note
 In the application I have no version information.

 @OLLI_S I did not see anything official about Uplay being EoL, though I can see many that assume this, do you have a link to a blog post or something else that I missed? I found this:
 https://support.ubisoft.com/en-US/faqs/58911This, in my opinion, indicates that not all games are moved to Ubisoft Connect, thus it indicates that Uplay is still maintained - but I may be wrong. Ubisoft Connect is now added.
-
 @Tom You are right.
 On my PC I still have both applications installed in the start menu: And also both EXE files are still present.
 But uPay is no longer shown although the EXE file is still present:File name and path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\Uplay.exe Product Name: Uplay Internal Name: Uplay game launcher Original Filename: Uplay.exe File Description: Uplay launcher Company: Ubisoft Legal Copyright: (c) Ubisoft Legal Trademarks: Comments: File Version String: 1.0 File Version: 1.0.1.0 Product Version String: 1.0.1 Product Version: 1.0.1.0

 @OLLI_S That's interesting, they changed the product name in the UplayService.exe file, which is the one we detect it on - for some reason we decided to use the service file back in the days, rather than the Uplay.exe - probably due to the lack of useful version information in Uplay.exe. Please test it, both products should be detected again.
-
 The strange thing is: when I start uPay, then uplay.exe is starts Ubisoft Connect automatically.
-
 @OLLI_S Well, if you find some official information that states that this is now one and the same program, then we will add a bundling specification to this and start treating it as one program.
-
 When I read this article then I would say that Ubisoft Connect will replace uPlay:
 https://support.ubisoft.com/en-US/Article/000074728And this is the reason why Ubisoft Connect is launched when you start uPlay.
-
 @OLLI_S Fixed
-
 @Tom What did you exactly fix?
 Currently Connect is detected.
-
 @OLLI_S Yes, Connect now bundles Uplay, as Uplay doesn't appear to be a separate product any longer.
-
 Oh, the business UI does not show bundles yet, so I did not see that....
-
 OK, then I mark this issue as solved.
