[Solved] Lazarus - Wrong Version detected after Update to 2.0 RC 2
-
Today I installed an update for Lazarus (new version 2.0 Release Candidate 2) but VulnDetect does not detect the installed version (version ? is shown)!
In Lazarus I see the following version number: 2.0.0RC2I know that you are working on apps that have a ? as version number.
But I decided to post this because:- This is a Release Candidate (not a public release)
- Detecting the version number for older versions was tricky (https://vulndetect.org/topic/250/added-lazarus-app-request)
- The version info can be found in C:\lazarus\ide\version.inc (I will send this by mail)
- I am not sure if the version number stored in the EXE can be used (see below)
Here the information extracted from the EXE file:
File name and path: C:\lazarus\lazarus.exe Product Name: Lazarus IDE Internal Name: Original Filename: File Description: Company: Legal Copyright: Legal Trademarks: Comments: File Version String: 2.0.0.2 File Version: 2.0.0.2 Product Version String: Product Version: 0.0.0.0 -
In the list of applications I see now version 2.0 RC2 of Lazarus.
@Tom
What about changing the application name from Lazarus to Lazarus (Beta)?
Because this is not a stable release... -
The post announcing the RC does not state that this is also beta:
http://forum.lazarus-ide.org/index.php/topic,43071.0.htmlSo I reckon that RC would suffice.

OK, this is fine for me.
