The Tech Preview is out...
Well, just remember, it is a "preview", so not even alpha stage yet.
You can install the SecTeer Personal CARMA. It will register an account. It will start communicating with the back-end. It will do a scan (once it is time).
The part about when the CARMA does the scan, that may seem a bit annoying, but we need to test the scheduling. We will implement something more responsive later (and we should be able to do this without you having to reinstall).
The result you will get, will be limited, CARMA detects around 20 different pieces of software now and only reports that the software is installed.
Next step will be to add more specific rules, that will report versions.
Then we will start adding update / security / EoL information.
We are working on a better and nicer looking UI and we will also work on the information we display in the "Applications" list.
We did also not publish the Privacy / Data Processing Policy, that is due in a day or two. It will be GDPR compliant, except you can't delete your data yet, but that is implemented in the backend and is mostly a UI thing, so it is coming soon.

SecTeer Personal Carma installation instructions.
You must install the SecTeer Personal Carma Agent in order to use SecTeer Personal Carma.
Note that the SecTeer Personal Carma Agent has no graphical user interface.
All user interaction with SecTeer Personal Carma (other than installing the Agent) is through the web page:

1)
A) Start by downloading the agent installer: secteerSetup.exe.
B) Run the agent installer, enter your email address when prompted, and complete the installation.
If an account does not already exist for that email address, it is created, a password is generated and sent to the email address, and an additional email is also sent to the email address, containing an account confirmation link.
C) Open the account confirmation link in a web browser and then log in to the account using the email address as a username, and the password that was sent in the email.
D) Go to the Configuration page and approve the agent.
2)
A. Start by going to the web page:https://carma.secteer.com/personal-carma/https://vulndetect.com/?1
B. Use your email address to register, supplying your own password. An email is sent to you, containing an account confirmation link.
C. Open the account confirmation link and then log in to the account using the email address as a username, and the password you supplied when registering.
D. From the Configuration page, download the agent installer: secteerSetup.exe.
E. Run the agent installer, enter your email address when prompted, and complete the installation.
F. In the your browser, refresh the Configuration page and approve the agent.Note that at this time, there is no way to change the account password.
If you register by first installing the agent, then a password is generated and emailed to you, and there is no way to change the password.
If you first register an account on the web page, then you can select your own password, but there is no way to change or reset it at this time. -
Some users have reported an issue when installing on some (all?) Windows 7 systems. We have identified the cause of this and will soon be releasing a new installer / binary that fixes the issue.
Also, we have some improvements for the UI and the emails in the pipeline.

We had an outage on the systems over the night. It was fixed an hour ago.

We are working on a new release.
It will include password reset and more info about agent activity.
A new release of the agent is also in the making, if fixes a bug related to Win7 systems.
And we just got another report about a bug in the agent. We are currently investigating and hope to include a fix for that as well.

A new version of the UI has been released - but no password changes before next week.
Some of the information in the "Configuration" needs to be populated, this will happen automatically, when the agent check-in and does an inspection next time, so you may currently see a misleading "Never".
Beware, you may need to reinstall the agent, due to a bug that was fixed in the agent, earlier today:

@khfbvfug Thanks. I don't think that is unusual. By all means, send it for analysis. It will only be good so they can white list it. I guess it is rare that they see such tiny executables, that are perfectly legit.

@vulndetect : I tried the second way (creating account first). I only received a mail with "Someone has attempted to create an account using this email address" nothing else... When launching Persornal carma installation I got an error after entering my email. At this time I cannot confirm my email as required.

@gregalexandre Your old account and password should still work. We don't delete the account just because you reinstall the agent.

@gregalexandre Reviewing this more closely, there was an issue sending confirmation emails under certain conditions, we will manually confirm your account. Please let me know if there is other issues. Either here or via email.

What is the link for Version 0.7.1.2. The only version I get is 0.6.1.1.

@thefly 0.7.1.2 is the UI version. The agent is still at 0.6.1.1. Sorry if this isn't clear enough.
