Notes:
- The Epic Games Launcher is a launcher and a shop for games like Steam or GOG
- For many popular games like Fortnite or Unreal Tournament this launcher is required (so I think that many users have it)
- The entry in the Windows 10 Start Menu is called Epic Games Launcher
- The app is installed in 32 Bit and also in 64 Bit (see paths below)
Here the information extracted from the 64-Bit EXE file:
File name and path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Binaries\Win64\EpicGamesLauncher.exe Product Name: Unreal Engine Internal Name: EpicGamesLauncher Original Filename: EpicGamesLauncher.exe File Description: EpicGamesLauncher Company: Epic Games, Inc. I had a look at the current version of the Epic Games Launcher and recognized that the version number in the application does not match the version number in the EXE file:
File name and path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Binaries\Win32\EpicGamesLauncher.exe Product Name: Unreal Engine Internal Name: UnrealEngine Original Filename: UnrealEngineLauncherProxy-Win32-Shipping.exe File Description: UnrealEngineLauncherProxy Company: Epic Games, Inc. @Tom In my original posting I uploaded the app-icon in ICO-format.
So here is the app-icon in PNG-format: -
I recognized that the verrsion numbers in the EXE and in the application are now identical:
File name and path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Binaries\Win64\EpicGamesLauncher.exe Product Name: Unreal Engine Internal Name: EpicGamesLauncher Original Filename: EpicGamesLauncher.exe File Description: EpicGamesLauncher Company: Epic Games, Inc. Legal Copyright: Copyright 1998-2019 Epic Games, Inc. All Rights Reserved. Legal Trademarks: Comments: File Version String: File Version: 10.18.7.0 Product Version String: 10.18.7-14280373+++Portal+Release-Live Product Version: 10.18.7.0
@Tom Are you going to add this?
Maybe you use the Product Version String and truncate the the text beginning with +++.
So you show the version number 10.18.7-14280373 -
@OLLI_S This should have been added, please confirm that it is detected correctly
-
Epic Games Launcher is now detected by VulnDetect and the version number 10.18.9.0 is also correct.
Thank you for adding this!
